The Junta of myself, Culla, AJ, Dave Lipson, Ben Zelnick and Andrew Keely will be making all roster decisions. We will have three weekends of tryouts and 2 tryout tournaments with a roster hopefully finalized by Boston Invite.

Tryouts will be on the following dates: Apr. 26, May 10/11, May 17/18. This will include participation in spring and early summer tournaments:
WMO: May 24/25
CUT IV: June 7/8
Bos Invite: June 28/29

As is always the case, the Northeast region will be very competitive in the 2008 season, but with 3 bids to nationals it will be more competitive than ever. Because of our desire to be competitive and as the Gunslingers and New Noise realized that we have a lot in common, the decision was made by both sides to merge.

This season we will be holding open tryouts like both teams have in years past, and will form a yet unnamed new team. We are looking for athletic and dedicated ultimate players who want to be a part of a fun and competitive team with high aspirations. We will be participating in a several tournaments over the course of the summer including Cazenovia, Boston Invite and many more.

This included our first ever tryout process, a boatload of new faces and an appearance at day 2 of Northeast Regionals. The team had a different look and feel as the make-up changed from overwhelmingly BU/Northeastern/BC to including players from UNH, Brandeis, MI…T, and Colgate.

While some things may have changed this season, others stayed the same. The Gunslingers still took the field with the same one-of-a-kind jerseys and aggressive and fun attitude towards playing ultimate.

Nothing is certain for next year, but the field is wide open. Hopefully this season’s strong showing at Regionals will attract additional talented ultimate players to add to the Gunslinger family. Next year will be interesting as PoNY, New Noise and Gunslingers all battle with Goat and Boston for the 3 bids to nationals.
